Review of The Jackss In Class (The Cocky Kingmans #5)* by Amy Award

As soon as I spotted The Jackss In Class*, I felt a spark of curiosity, drawn in by the promise of a spicy college romance with strong characters and relatable themes. I had never previously encountered Amy Award, but with this fifth installment of The Cocky Kingmans series, I’ve just discovered a new favorite author. Seriously, how did I not know about her before? This book has become a delightful addition to my TBR pile, and I’m yearning to read more of her work!

What struck me most about this novel was the beautiful character of Tempest—a college senior who embodies empowerment and resilience. She isn’t just a delightful plus-size queen and an animal lover; she’s also a secret spicy romance author! Talk about a self-made baddie! Tempest’s journey through the complexities of college life, friendships, and familial expectations resonated deeply with me. She carries the weight of bullying and fat-shaming, but her bold spirit shines through every page.

On the other hand, we have Flynn—the heartthrob linebacker with a reputation that precedes him. Initially focused solely on his football goals, he’s charmingly roguish, with a "two-week dating rule" that usually keeps him emotionally distant. Yet his vulnerability emerges beautifully as he seeks to connect with Tempest in deeper ways. Their meeting, sparked by his attempt to save a baby donkey, sets the tone for a relationship that blossoms in the most unexpected ways, showcasing a classic enemies-to-lovers dynamic.

What I truly appreciated about the writing was the seamless pacing and rhythmic dialogue that brought these characters and their chemistry to life. Award excels in creating a playful yet intense atmosphere. The banter between Flynn and Tempest is not just spicy; it’s filled with humor and authenticity, drawing you in so much you might find yourself laughing and swooning on the same page!

One quote that leaps out at me, “Do you know how many women have never seen themselves as the heroine?” encapsulates the heart of the story. Tempest’s growth from feeling unworthy to embracing her identity and desires is truly inspiring and will resonate with many women navigating similar struggles.

Moreover, I adored how romantic support played a pivotal role in the narrative. Flynn cheering on Tempest as she reveals her author persona proves that love isn’t just about attraction; it’s also about lifting your partner up. His genuine care for her dreams made my heart flutter. Their relationship also highlights the importance of standing up to family expectations—yes, love conquers all but balancing familial pressures adds realistic layers to the romance.

In conclusion, if you’re a fan of college romances featuring endearing characters, themes of self-acceptance, and a journey to find love while navigating societal pressures, then The Jackss In Class* is a must-read. Amy Award has a knack for creating captivating stories that linger long after you’ve turned the last page. I can’t wait for her next release!

Thank you to Amy Award and Love Notes PR for providing the opportunity to read this incredible book! Happy reading! ❤️
