This book is written from two perspectives Nicole and Morgan. One day Morgan is on her way home from work when a woman who seems to know a lot about her shoves her baby into Morgan’s arms before jumping in front of an oncoming train. From this moment on Morgan must find out who this woman is and why she chose Morgan because, the police think Nicole didn’t jump. And Morgan is their person of interest. Morgan’s perspective tells us about “now” what happens in the fall out of Nicole’s death. We watch Morgan put herself in danger to find out what really happened in order to keep herself and Nicole’s baby safe. Nicole’s perspective tells us about before, what lead up to her jumping and leaving her baby in the arms of a stranger. But who was Nicole so afraid of? What was she trying to protect her baby from?
Woman on the Edge was full of suspense. I thought it was a very well thought out book with some interesting plot twists. The characters were very easy to empathise with, I felt like they had been developed nicely. We were told about their histories and backgrounds, what made them who they are and why so you really got a sense of knowing them. It felt like you were reading about real people, the author really has done great in adding dimension to her characters which I think is so important for making me love a book. If the characters are flat I find it hard to really engage with their story.
I also really liked that it was quite a fasted paced read. There was always something happening. Not too much to make the book feel chaotic but enough so there wasn’t any lulls in the story. It didn’t give you any chance to get bored. There was always something waiting around the corner to draw your interest and I like that. I always struggle with slow paced books because I don’t have the best attention span, I need something to keep me interested and entertained and this book really did that.
All in all, I really enjoyed reading Woman on the Edge. I did as I got through the book predict the ending before I got to it. But overall it is a lovely book. It is entertaining, full of suspense and mystery and it is something different when it comes to the storyline. I would definitely recommend this book. especially if you want something fast paced and easy to read.
